When we reached there, I was like Ok .. i think we have to go to that "chao ta" ( burnt) building.
Ok Yes we have to go up there. THE "FURNACE"
the area where the fire fighters, civil defence people practise to prepare themselves for a real fire.
This is "Beautiful Hotel" and this is the "Lily suite".For real. haha. funny names.
and then the fun begins. When everything start blursting into flames, since this is a simulation, we were actually very safe but the flames were unbelievably close to us.
the second pic which seems really blurry is actually a shot of the ceiling. which was totally engulfed in flames. Even with that, there were fire coming from the side of the room. We truly felt like we were being roasted alive.
We also went to a room where we were "SMOKED", ok we had to show that we were able to cope in a smoky situation and remain calm and get our way out by ourselves. The smoke was sooo thick and smelly, but it was safe(created by vegetable oil) and I couldn't even see the person next to me. I felt slightly worried and uneasy at first when I knew I was FURTHEST away from the door, and also because I had night blindess, so I knew I will have a hard time of moving out of this smoke-filled room where visibility was clearly NONE, and we could only rely purely on our sense of touch to get out.
Even when we moved out of the smokey room, this is still what I saw
Which made we felt like i was in HEAVEN. LOL.
I truly salute the fire fighters and the Singapore Civil Defence people for risking their lives to ensure our safety. After going to the CDA and fire station, I truly feel how difficult their jobs are.
